Mc Culloch Lake Havasu City - formed by Robert P. McCulloch, president of the McCulloch Oil Co., as a private airline with two Constellations in 1964 to ferry potential buyers to Lake Havasu City, the city he started constructing that year in the Arizona Desert, approx. 240 miles east of Los Angeles. Interested customer were flown free of charge in the Connies from such centres as Cleveland, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas and Kansas City to view his city on a two day visit.

This Connie was in service until end of 1965 and later used for spares.
The Connies were used until 1970, but were gradually replaced by L-188 Electra's from April 1968.

McCulloch later flew regular charter flights after the take over of Vance International Airlines in late 1971 under the title McCulloch International Airlines Inc. He promoted more than 2,700 flights
from
1963 to 1978 carrying
137,000
prospective buyers to Lake Havasu City.
Many
of the city's residents
initially purchased lots and Lake Havasu was born.
