This Constellation was built for USAAF but not taken up. Registered NC90605 and converted to 49-51-26 by LAS, New York, NY for BOAC, registered G-AHEM 'Balmoral' and in service 3 July 1946. Converted to 49-26-22, later to 65-seater, All-Tourist class, to model 049D in 1952 and later 049E in 1953.
Arriving at London Heathrow from New York on the first BOAC Atlantic proving flight on 16 June 1946,
Sold to Capital Airlines as N2735A, FN 755 and delivered on 11 October 1955.
Crashed on landing at Kanawha Airport, Charleston, WV, on 12 May 1959.
