Established in 1959 by Jose M Carreras Saavedra as a nonscheduled freight carrier, Aerolineas Carreras started services the same year with a Curtiss C-46. The purchase of an L749A Constellation Freighter took place in 1964, and the airline specialized in livestock transportation. The airline ceased operations after the impounding of the Constellation at Montevideo in April 1967.
