Braniff purchased two L049s from Lineas Aereas Venezuelas (LAV) in August 1955 and used them on their Dallas-San Antonio, Chicago-Houston and Dallas, and Houston-Amarillo routes. By early 1958 both Connies were withdrawn from service and stored at Washington until sold in 1961.
