Slide Condition

 Definition

Slides are subject to aging. Ideally, they are stored in a dark, dust-free environment and at stable temperatures. However, transporting and projecting are physically challenging and might leave their traces because of scratches, fingerprints, marks, Etc. To best describe the slide's condition, we are using the following criteria to evaluate the state of the slide offered. 

A

Excellent

Minor flaws or damage to slide surface, visible only under close inspection in specular or raking light 

B

Good

Flaws that draw the eye under normal viewing conditions once known or seen

C

Fair

Flaws are immediately apparent under standard viewing conditions

D

Poor

Significant flaws and damages like dents, marks, scratches, and color shift but still good for scanning and digital enhancement
